昨年に続き、徳川家康公の命日にあたる4月17日の大祭の日に、上野東照宮にお参りしました。
神社巡りをはじめたのは一昨年からで、主にお参りするのは龍神様🐉が祀られている神社なのですが、ご先祖が徳川家にお仕えしていたので、東照宮にもお参りしておかなくてはと、今年も足を運びました。
前回と同じく、木箱に入った昇龍守と手漉き和紙の大祭記念御朱印をいただいて、大祭に合わせて御開扉された金色殿の前でもしっかり手を合わせてきました。
昨年は拝殿までものすごく長い行列ができていて、1時間以上は並んだので、かなり身構えていたんですけど、今年は少し混雑が緩和されていて、びっくりするような行列ではなくてよかったです笑
おかげでゆっくりと豪華な金色殿をいろいろな角度から眺めることができました。
ちょうど新月で参拝にはとても良い日でしたし、御利益をいただけたらいいなと願ってます。
あまりにも人が多くて、前回は断念したぼたん苑にもはじめて入ってみました。
ぼたんって、お花も美しいですけど香りがほんとに素敵ですよね。
まだ開きはじめたばかりのお花に顔を近づけては、うっとりするような甘い香りを堪能させてもらいました。✨✨
上野東照宮は、来年の2027年で創建400年になるので、またぜひお参りにいきたいです。🌈💕

Visiting Ueno Toshogu Shrine
Following last year, I visited Ueno Toshogu Shrine on April 17th for the Grand Festival, which marks the anniversary of Tokugawa Ieyasu’s passing.
I only started visiting shrines two years ago, and I mainly visit those dedicated to Dragon Gods (Ryujin)🐉. However, since my ancestors served the Tokugawa family, I felt I should pay my respects at Toshogu again this year.
Just like last time, I received the "Rising Dragon" charm in its wooden box and a special Grand Festival Goshuin (shrine seal) made from handmade washi paper. The Konjikiden (Golden Hall) is always visible, but its front doors are only opened during the Grand Festival, so I made sure to offer a deep prayer right in front of them.
Last year, there was such a massive line for the hall that I had to wait for over an hour, so I came prepared for the worst!😅 But to my surprise, it wasn't nearly as crowded this year. Thanks to that, I was able to take my time and admire the gorgeous Golden Hall from many different angles.
It happened to be a new moon—a perfect day for a shrine visit—so I’m hoping for some good fortune.
I also finally stepped into the Peony Garden, which I’d given up on last time because of the crowds.
Peonies are beautiful to look at, of course, but their fragrance is truly wonderful. I leaned in close to the flowers that were just beginning to bloom and fully enjoyed their enchanting, sweet scent.✨✨
Next year, 2027, marks the 400th anniversary of Ueno Toshogu's founding, so I’d definitely love to visit again.🌈💕
