明日はアメリカの雇用統計など、重要な経済指標の発表が目白押しで、マーケットはどう動くかな？
日米の関税交渉のゆくえも気になります。
とくに自動車関税については、「『オールアメリカン』な車なんて存在しない」わけですから、お互いの利益になる形で決着してほしいです。
マーケットといえば、日本のお米のマーケットは荒れ模様ですよね。
モノの値段と所得は少しずつ上がっていくのが当たり前ですが、さすがに短期間で急にお米の価格が2倍になるのは健全とは言い難いです。
そこで政府の備蓄米が放出されたわけですが、備蓄米が店頭に並ぶ日の朝5時や6時から大勢の人たちが行列して買い求めているところをテレビで見て、びっくりしてしまいました。
私の家では、私が生まれる前に数年間海外で生活していた父の意向で、朝食は毎日決まって、いわゆるイングリッシュブレックファストで、パン派でした。
そのせいもあってか、1年ほどイギリスに留学していた間もお米を食べなくて平気でしたし、お米愛はちょっと薄いのかもしれないです。
でも、たまにお寿司とカツ丼が無性に食べたくなって、お店に走ったこともありました笑
やはり日本の主食はお米なので、もう少し価格が安定するように対策を打ってもらえると、消費者としてはありがたいですね。

I'm planning to take a day off tomorrow.
Even though I say I'll take a break, I might end up checking the charts anyway.😅 Tomorrow is packed with important economic indicators, like the US employment statistics, so I wonder how the market will react? I'm also curious about the outcome of the US-Japan tariff negotiations. Especially regarding automotive tariffs, since "there's no such thing as an 'all-American' car," I really hope they can reach a resolution that benefits both sides.
Speaking of markets, the rice market in Japan is quite turbulent, isn't it? While it's normal for prices and incomes to gradually increase, a sudden doubling of rice prices in a short period is hardly healthy.
So, the government released its reserve rice, and I was really surprised to see on TV how many people were lining up to buy it from as early as 5 or 6 in the morning on the day it hit the stores.
In my family, thanks to my dad's preference—he lived abroad for several years before I was born—breakfast was always what you'd call an English breakfast, so we were definitely a "bread" family. Maybe because of that, I was perfectly fine not eating rice during the year I studied in the UK, so I might have a bit less "rice love." But I did occasionally get an irresistible craving for sushi and katsudon and rushed to a restaurant.😄
Since rice is, after all, Japan's staple food, as a consumer, I'd be very grateful if measures were taken to stabilize its price a bit more.
